Havnago For Kethana

Our friendly Queensland & Northern Territory agents Bob & Irene @ Havnago Holdings have generously donated money to a special cause for a young lady named Kethana who three years ago was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, osteofibrous dysplasia.

Bob & Irene have donated money for this fantastic cause on Polymer Innovations & Havnago's behalf.
We would also like to take the time to let you know about it.

On October 22nd 2011 the Gin Gin Rodeo will raise money for Limb Reconstruction Unit at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

From the News Mail news article
"BEYOND the usual bucking bulls and the cowboys featuring in next month's Gin Gin Rodeo, there lies a different face to the event - eight-year-old Khethana Graham.
Three years ago, Khethana was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, osteofibrous dysplasia, and has since been through countless limb reconstruction operations at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

All money raised at the rodeo will go directly to the Limb Reconstruction Unit at the children's hospital in recognition of the youngster's treatment.

Khethana's dad, Duncan, said his little girl had been through tough times, but was now a "poster girl" for other kids who suffered from the same disease.
"She shows other kids who might be scared that she is all right," he said.
Mr Graham said about 13cm was cut out of her 15cm-long tibia bone, which she was currently regrowing.
"She's bounced back quickly - she's happy," he said.
"She runs around and plays like any other child."

Khethana has already dedicated herself to raising money for other people affected by cancer.
Mum Rebecca said her daughter, a Year 3 student at Gin Gin Primary School, had raised more than $100,000 through various fundraisers including selling Christmas cards.

"The money she's been raising has gone to tumour research and the Wonder Factory," she said. "She's been doing it for a year."

Mrs Graham said the funds raised from the Gin Gin Rodeo, to be held on October 22, would go directly to Khethana's unit, which "desperately" needed funds.

Mrs Graham said the money would also go towards building an education program for parents about the disease, because there was not a lot of support available aside from the medical teams.
"We all go in blind so we really need an education program to start up," she said.

Gates will open at 9am for the rodeo, with all the action starting from 11am.

So, if you are near Gin Gin on the day please support this wonderful cause or donate directly to the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
