Millet Trial: December Update

In October Polymer Innovations began a trial involving the broadacre farming of millet to test the effectiveness of a new experimental polymer blend that reduces the amount of water loss while increasing the efficiency & value of the water that is available.

Promising early results were observed at our first & second site visits at the end of October & November which were covered in earlier posts.
Now, twelve weeks after application we have returned again to the site & inspected the results for December.
The area has experienced an above average amount of rainfall in the past two weeks encouraging huge growth on both sides of the trial area.

Despite good growth on both sides of the test area, our measurements indicate growth on the treated side in some areas are 30-50mm longer than the untreated millet.

Openness about tests, trials & ongoing research in the lab & out in the field may not always yield the ground breaking results we hope for but that is what R & D is about...trial & error.
