When Water$ave PL is applied to an existing dam or pond it creates a plug where the leakage occurs without the need to drain any water or bring in heavy earth-moving equipment.

The product is easily spread on the surface of the water by hand (...from a small dinghy is perfect) or with an approved powder/fertiliser applicator.
Water$ave PL hydrates via osmosis holding several hundred times its own weight in water.
These polymers are insoluble & are sucked into any crack or porous area whilst they are slowly hydrating to a size of 1mm to 30mm, creating the plug effect in the soil.
The polymer chains can be further connected to produce a mesh or network.
This is termed cross-linking & occurs to some extent with all water-soluble polymers.
Extensive cross-linking will produce a polymer which is no longer soluble in water but which retains an open structure.
Water molecules can be absorbed into this open structure causing swelling of the polymer.
This polymer is known as a Polyacrylamide, a combination of two monomers: Acrylamide & Potassium Acrylate.
It’s charge density & molecular weight can be controlled by the ratio of acrylamide & potassium acrylate.
This allows us to customise its charge depending on the soil to be bonded, even silty or sandy soils.
Generally, the basic rate of application is around 75-100g/m² depending on the rate of leakage.
